Large racial gaps in median income on city level

Map & Data Resources | By Mike Alberti |

Here, the median household income for non-Latino Whites, African Americans, Latinos, and Asians in each U.S. city with a population of 500,000 or greater is shown by a separate color-coded bar.  Then, all of the bars are sorted from highest median income to lowest. Non-Latino Whites as well as Asians dominate the highest ranking spots, while African-Americans are disproportionately represented at the bottom of the list.
