March 16, 2011 — The data visualization below shows the 44 occupations that, according to projections from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, will grow by 100,000 or more jobs. Seven of the top 10 pay under $35,000. The visualization on the next page shows the 38 occupations that BLS projects will lose 10,000 or more jobs. The 10 occupations with the greatest projected job losses, too, are mostly jobs that pay under $35,000. In all cases, total number of jobs, projected percentage increase (or decrease) in jobs, and median annual earnings for the job are provided.
